The five second fix
Someone else's EQ is still in the desk
Thin, no bass, no punch? That is almost always the last DJ's settings still in the desk, not a fault. Five seconds.
- Sweep the channel EQ knobs to 12 o'clock. Full left is not off, but it is close: the DJM-900NXS2 cuts to -26 dB in EQ mode.
- Find the isolator and set it flat. On the 900NXS2 it is the EQ CURVE switch; the V10 has a separate 3-band master isolator.
- Thin in the booth but fine on the floor? That is the monitor path, not your signal. An A9 or a V10 has its own booth EQ, HI and LOW; a 900NXS2 has no booth EQ at all, only the BOOTH MONITOR control. Either way the room never heard a problem.
