AlphaTheta publish one entry for this player, 1.10 of 2 July 2026, and it names no defect: it added compatibility with Serato DJ Pro and djay Pro, and closes with "Other minor bugs have been fixed." Below 1.10 neither of those applications will control the deck, which is the one thing the record does tell you.

Ver. 3.21 is the highest published version and AlphaTheta render its date two ways on their own material, 10 July 2018 in the change history and 7 October 2018 on the article, which is the ordinary 07/10 ambiguity. Ver. 3.20 added KUVO support and 3.18 improved SIDECHAIN REMIX and added manual effects to it, both additions rather than named defects, so neither carries a row. THE HISTORY HAS NO VERSION BELOW 3.18, and that is the answer to the DJM-2000 question rather than a gap: 3.18 is where the two products converged. The DJM-2000 is a different product with its own history and it has no row here because this site has no page for it. The two share a firmware filename from 3.18 onward and that is not permission to flash either machine with the other file.

It does carry a documented consequence, printed by AlphaTheta on the firmware article itself: after updating to 1.05 the Sampler Master Volume in Serato DJ Pro no longer syncs with the SAMPLER VOL knob, and the level has to be set in software instead. Version 1.02 had already changed that knob’s MIDI message. Versions 1.00, 1.01, 1.03 and 1.04 are implied by the numbering and AlphaTheta’s change history document refused every request during research, so nothing is claimed about them.

Ver. 1.07 is the end of the record and AlphaTheta say so themselves: if the unit reads 1.07 there is nothing to update. Two dates exist for it, 13 May 2013 in the change history document and 06/Feb/2020 on the article, and the 2013 date is the contemporaneous one. THE UPDATER NEEDS JAVA, which AlphaTheta state in one line and which is the reason an update appears to do nothing on a machine with no Java runtime installed. After updating, the change history advises recalibrating the touch sensor levels.

AlphaTheta publish no firmware download and no version history for this model at all. Its product page has no Firmware Update section, which was verified by fetching the page and enumerating all seven of its sections, and every former pioneerdj.com firmware path redirects away. That is an absence of publishing and not an absence of firmware: AlphaTheta’s own troubleshooting tells you to read the version out of the DDJ-SR2 Setting Utility. A version 1.11 is claimed by a third party and AlphaTheta’s own page and change history both stop at 1.10, so it is not published here as fact. Firmware for this model ships as a Windows package only.

The other three are additions and carry no row by the same rule every entry here follows: 1.10 extended the maximum sample length to 64 seconds and added project file loading, 1.20 raised the PRO DJ LINK ceiling to six units with CDJ-3000s and added Drum Machine mode, and 1.22 of 7 November 2024 changed the automatic shut off time to 20 minutes to comply with the EU Ecodesign Directive. Version 1.21 does not appear in the record. 1.20 is the version that matters most in a booth even though it fixed nothing.
