The one category of cookies we use

Analytics (optional, off by default). If you accept on the banner, we load Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC), which sets cookies beginning with _ga. We use it to see which pages actually help DJs and where people get stuck, nothing more. If you decline, Google Analytics is never loaded and these cookies are never set. Google describes its own processing in its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

We set no advertising cookies and do no cross-site tracking, with or without consent.

The sign-in cookie (strictly necessary)

If you register or sign in, we set one cookie named smg_s. It is what keeps this device signed in. It holds a signed session token, not a tracking ID, lasts 90 days, and is never used for analytics or advertising. Signing out or deleting your account removes it. Never sign in and this cookie is never set.

What lives in your browser instead

The site stores some data in your browser's local storage. Local storage is not a cookie and never travels with your requests on its own. It stays on your device unless you ask us to move it: the Email list button sends your list to your inbox through Brevo, and account sync stores a copy on our servers so your other devices can load it. Both are described in the Privacy Policy. It holds your cookie choice itself (so the banner does not ask on every visit), your checklist (items, edits, ticks, notes), your registration on this device, including the email address and name you registered with, the language you chose, and a few small preferences such as dismissed notices.

The language is one short code, kept so the site does not have to ask again. It never leaves your device and it is not analytics, so it works whether you accept the banner or decline it.

The site can also install a small offline cache (a service worker) so the rescue pages keep working in a basement booth with no signal. That cache contains our pages, in the language you installed from, and nothing about you.

Changing your mind

Clear this site's cookies in your browser and the banner asks again on your next visit. Careful with the nuclear option: clearing all site data also deletes your checklist from this device, so download or email your list first. You can also block cookies for this site entirely in your browser settings; the rescue flow does not need them.
