Safety copy before the rebuild
Everything after this point can end in a format. Copy your music off first.
- Copy the whole drive to the computer. Not a folder you pick, the whole thing.
- Open the copy and check the music is actually in it. A failed export sometimes writes the database and not the audio, and a drive that looks full can be full of nothing you can play. Count the tracks before you trust it.
- If some files fail, copy what you can and note which ones. Skipped files are gone for good if this drive gets formatted later, so if any of them matter, take the fresh-drive route instead and keep this one intact.
- While it copies: open rekordbox, top-left mode selector to EXPORT. If your USB shows under Devices, the next screen refreshes it; if it never shows, say so on the next screen and we rebuild clean.
