Native Instruments

Native Instruments was founded in Berlin in 1996 as a software company, and TRAKTOR, released in 2000, is DJ software built for the laptop rather than the deck. It is a bring-your-own ecosystem: what turns up in a booth is a laptop running TRAKTOR PRO and a KONTROL controller, not installed hardware. In 2026 the company agreed to become part of inMusic.
