CDJ-3000 FIRMWARE 3.30
WHERE IT STANDS

AlphaTheta's first notice, dated 4 November 2025, names the symptom and the release: users experienced playlists not being displayed after updating to CDJ-3000 firmware Ver.3.30, released on 21 October 2025. Its instruction at the time was to "temporarily downgrade to Ver.3.20 to ensure stable operation", with the update guide and Ver.3.20 offered for download from the support page.

Read the date. That instruction, downgrade to 3.20, was the answer on 4 November 2025. It is not the answer now, and the section after next says why.

The follow-up notice, dated 7 January 2026, explains the cause as the transition from Device Library to OneLibrary, states that "tracks or playlists didn't display on the CDJ-3000 but, importantly, no music or data was deleted", and closes the episode: "For now, the CDJ-3000 has reverted to using the Device Library format, and no OneLibrary preparation is needed." It offers no rollback procedure, because none is needed once the player is on a later version.

The sentence that matters for a working DJ is the one about data. A playlist that did not display was a display fault, not a deleted playlist. The drive was fine. That is also why the fix at the time was a firmware move and not a re-export.

AlphaTheta answer the obvious question inside the change history for 3.22 itself. Their note on that release says the update does not include OneLibrary support, that loading libraries in Device Library format still works fine, and that you should feel free to update the firmware. So the version that follows the withdrawal is not a second attempt at it.

So the answer to "which version should a CDJ-3000 be on" is 3.22 or whatever AlphaTheta publish after it, and never 3.30. The firmware matrix keeps the current floor and names 3.30 as the withdrawn exception.

Do not update a venue's player at doors, and do not try to downgrade it either. Both are a table job with the update guide open, and neither is yours to do on somebody else's deck. What not to touch in a club covers the reasoning.

If your playlists do not display on it, the tracks are still on the drive. Playlists not showing on a CDJ is the page for the booth: it gets you to the music by folder when the library view fails.

Tell the venue after the set, with the version number, so the deck gets updated by the person whose job that is.

OneLibrary did not go away. It is the library format on the CDJ-3000X, OPUS-QUAD, OMNIS-DUO, XDJ-AZ, XDJ-AN and CDJ-1500X, and the CDJ-3000 stayed on Device Library. OneLibrary vs Device Library explains the two formats, and the USB compatibility matrix says which player expects which.

The rule this site takes from it is older than the incident: never update firmware in the week of a gig, and never on the day. A withdrawn release is rare. A release you have not tested yet is every release.
