Which drive format each player reads
Reviewed: 31 August 2026
Booth briefing. FAT32 with an MBR partition map plays on every AlphaTheta and Pioneer DJ unit in this table, and every Engine OS unit lists it too. exFAT is the column that bites: half the CDJ and XDJ range refuses it. NTFS is never read by a rekordbox player. Two answers per row, in the maker's words: which file systems the unit mounts, and which library format it expects. 29 units.
The manufacturer's own exFAT list is dated March 2022 and names three models. This table is decided by the rekordbox FAQ for exFAT and library format, and by each unit's own manual or product page for the rest, and every row links its sources. Where this site holds no maker statement for a cell, the cell says so instead of guessing.

Where each row comes from
exFAT and library format on the AlphaTheta rows follow the rekordbox FAQ, checked July 2026. Everything else is the unit's own manual or product page, linked from its field manual. Model names and file-system names are printed as the unit prints them.
The data behind this page
Every row as a file you can use: JSON and CSV, with the sources per row. Free to reuse, quote and republish with credit and a link to this page. Licence: CC BY 4.0. Regenerated from the same source as the page, so the two cannot disagree.
Badges for a forum sticky, a school page or a venue note
Every unit in the table has a badge naming the file systems it reads. It links back here and updates itself when the table does. Paste it like this, changing the model:
<a href="https://www.savemygig.com/knowledge/usb-compatibility#usb-cdj-3000"><img src="https://www.savemygig.com/badge/usb/cdj-3000.svg" alt="CDJ-3000 USB drive compatibility, Save My Gig"></a>
